What we do

Community Health Aide

Community Health Aide/Practitioners (CHA/Ps) work within the guidelines of the Alaska Community Health Aide/Practitioner Manual (CHAM) to assess and provide emergent, acute and chronic care to residents of their respective rural communities.

Behavioral Health Aide

Behavioral Health Aide/Practitioners use a combination of Western and traditional-based practices to provide behavioral health prevention, treatment and recovery services to Alaska Native populations in rural Alaska.

Dental Health Aide


Dental Health Aides provide regular access to patient education, prevention and dental care and are a model of success for improving oral health and access to care for rural populations.

Certification Board


The CHAPCB was created by the federal government to formalize the process of maintaining community health aides/practitioners, dental health aides and behavioral health aides/practitioners training and practice standards.
